Well incase you haven't gathered by now, many people now have a dn-hd2500 in their posession in Europe, with the USA coming along very shortly.If you've bought yours in Europe from the first few weeks, chances are you'll have the wrong firmware installed. The first official version is 1004, but some units went out with 1002, so use the manual to work out how to check the firmware version, and contact Denon or see the forums if you think you don't have the latest version.
Meanwhile, over at the forums, the first pictures from real-life installs are coming in thick and fast ! ;

Whilst we've seen many sites already selling the dn-hd2500, we've noticed the first bundle from www.decks.co.uk.They are selling the dn-hd2500 AND the bu-4500 tray for a combined price of 999 pounds, and of course they'll be the first to ship too, so go check them out !

Well we posted up the software downloads the day they came out, but we didn't really mention on the front page news. Basically there are two new downloads. Firstly the Denon Music Manager sofware.This software allows you to prepare your mp3's for the dn-hd2500, and build yourself a "Denon Database", which can be transfered to the dn-hd2500 along with your mp3's. The software also gives you search facilities, and bpm input.
You don't need a dn-hd2500 to use the software, it's been distributed in advance to give dj's a chance to prepare.
The other download is basically an ISO Image of the cd that comes with the dn-hd2500, which contains not only the music manager software, but also the manual for the dn-hd2500 in many different languages.
Both downloads can be freely obtained from out downloads page.

DENON ANNOUNCE EXTERNAL DRIVE FOR NEW HD2500 MULTI-MEDIA PLAYERD&M Professional Europe has announced the introduction of an external drive unit to help maximise sales of the new Denon HD2500 Professional Multi-Media Player.
This low-cost option takes advantage of the HD2500�s standard Denon drive unit connection, which allows it to interface with either a Denon DN-D4000 or DN-D4500 twin CD/MP3 player, giving the customers the ability to play from CD�s.
Said D&M Europe's Product Manager David Morbey, "The HD2500 is an all-in-one media player and controller for professional DJs and was purpose-designed to offer complete command and control over Denon dual-tray CD/MP3 players such as the DN-D4500 and DN-D4000 drive section.
Given he revolutionary nature of the DN-HD2500 we anticipated that many customers would be new to Denon and would not have one of these previous models; so we decided to take the CD drive unit from the DN-D4500 and make it available as a 2U product in its own right."

We've got our first 3rd party review for you to read over in the review section of the site.This will give you a true reflection of what real dj's who are working out in the field think about the new dn-dh2500.
Secondly, we've been in contact with Denon UK again, and they tell they expect the DN-HD2500 to be available from the 2nd week in March, so thats exactly a month away. Get your credit cards at the ready !

The first demo-video of the dn-hd2500 in action is currently being put together to show off the cool features of the DN-HD2500, to coincide with the NAMM launch.If you want to see something specific demo'ed in the video, you can head on over to the Denon DJ Forums DN-HD2500 Video Thread, and make a suggestion before the video is put together.
The final video will be published here on www.dn-hd2500.com before anywhere else and then distributed around the world, so all your suggestions are welcome !.

Welcome to the year of the Hard Disk based DJ !, the year that the HD2500 will finally be made available to the world !.Small update, we've just found the dnhd2500 selling for 1300 Euros in france over at this site : www.musicafond.fr, which equates to about 875 uk pounds, just out of interest !
Meanwhile in the Netherlands, DJ Store.NL is selling the DN-HD2500 for a more reasonable 1049 Euros, which is about 706 UK pounds. What a bargain !.
Back in the US, we have good old Sam Ash selling the dn-hd2500 for 899 Dollars.

Ho Ho Ho Merry Xmas !, whilst we can't bring you an hd2500 for xmas just yet as they're still rolling off the production line, we CAN bring you the RRP price for a DN-HD2500 in the UK.Please note that whilst these figures are accurate, they're not official yet as Denon UK are still completing the paperwork, so basically it could change, but it won't really :)
Anyway, am I pleased to announce that the RRP in the UK for a DN-HD2500 will be 762 pounds including vat.
Prices for the dn-d4500 tray without controller, to be used in conjuction with the dn-hd2500, are still to be discussed as this stand-alone product is coming along later on next year. We'll let you know asap when they announce a price.

The side view reveals the usual digital and analogue connections, along with the USB connection to the PC, and the USB A connection to connect to an external Hard Disc.

DN-HD2500 Pre-ordersWe noticed that a few online retailers are now starting to take pre-orders for the DN-HD2500.
On the UK side, we've spotted djempire.co.uk retailing it for 776 pounds including vat, and also discostudio.co.uk retailing the dn-hd2500 at 829 pounds including vat.

Our budding scouts at DJ Expo are currently bringing back more information on the Denon dn-hd2500, and we've updated the F.A.Q. below accordingly. Most important bit of news in our opinion is that the dn-hd2500 can function with out the internal hard drive in place.Tuesday 22nd August 2006
We've found a place already selling the Denon dn-hd2500 for 999 english pounds !, but saying that, this place also thinks the release date is 28/09/2006, which we know not to be true !, so take it with a pinch of salt !Anyway, go here if you want to place a pre-order ;)
